TAQA posted $1.6 billion in profits in 2021, an increase of 49% compared to 2020. Thabet previously led the Abu Dhabi Power Corporation and the National Central Cooling Company (Tabreed). He also currently serves on the boards of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Etihad Aviation Group, and Abu Dhabi Ports.
